what are my options for session times?

Our sessions windows are:
(all sessions are M-F)
9am - 11am
11am - 1pm
1pm - 3pm

However; we cannot promise any specific times, we can only give you windows of time of when we will be available. This is due to travel times and other factors of availability. Unless you have a new puppy working on potty training schedules or some other specific issue similar to this.
*You can specify a preferred window in your profile, and we can try our best to adhere to your request but due to availability that is not always possible.*

What Breeds get the most out of hikes?

All dogs love the great outdoors, big or small, the average family dog needs a lot more than a morning and evening walk to relieve themselves and a couple play sessions here and there. Working, sporting, & hound/terrier breeds that have it in their genetic make up to be be high energy and to maintain that energy throughout the day are the types of dogs that would benefit most from this type of mentally stimulating environment. If you aren't sure about your breed's particular needs ask your vet!
Dogs that would love this kind of exercise:

  • Young "teenaged" dogs of almost all breeds

  • Labradoodle

  • Goldendoodle

  • Weimaraner

  • Vizsla

  • Shepherds

  • Australian Cattle Dog

  • Border Collie

  • Corgi

  • Retrievers

  • Spaniels

  • Setters

  • Pointer

  • Poodles

  • Coonhounds

  • Doberman

  • Husky

  • Malamute

how will you get into the house to walk the dog when I'm away?

Most of our clients give us either a spare key or key code access. If you chose the spare key option we can provide you with a lock box to place on your property so there is no risk of lost keys! We've never lost a key before, but the fear of losing one is always there and we want you to be in control and feel at ease with the security of your home.

what if i something comes up and i have to cancel one or two sessions?

Cancellations are fine as long as we are given a full day's notice (24hrs), and as long it doesn't happen too often! We want to make this service as easy and convenient as possible for you.

will you play with my dog off leash?

For the safety of your dog we don't do any activities off leash. Your dog's safety is extremely important to us, and we take it very seriously.

How many dogs at a time do you exercise?

Each session is personalized to the dogs needs and energy levels. Your dog's safety is a top priority for us so we will never have over 4 dogs together during any one session. Most of our current clientele are on solo adventures or have just one or two other consistent buddies with them on their adventures.

what if my dog gets dirty?

At the end of every adventure we will wipe your dogs paws, if needed. We always carry spare towels with us in our vehicles for those special moments where we encounter a mud puddle or two. If your dog manages to get overly dirty we wont let them back in your house until they are cleaned up! So rest easy, the carpet is safe!

What if you go on vacation?

We will give you at least one month's notice if we have a vacation planned.

why do you need a "2 times a week commitment"?

So we can better get to know your dog and you, to make for the best experience possible. Given location and schedule availability two visits also helps us avoid having lots of singular visits during the week which makes the schedule very chaotic.

What would you suggest for a senior dog or young puppy?

Although senior and puppies get tired faster than those in their "prime" we can still find something that works for them. Whether that be a short hike or walk or a quick jog through the park! We can help you personalize for every good boy and girl in your home. More exercise for a senior dog can help them to relieve joint stiffness and pain so you'll see your old friend looking happier and more playful in their golden years!

What if it's really hot outside?

Your dog's safety and comfort is our top priority and we take it very seriously. In the heat of the summer we take frequent breaks where they will get lots of water while keeping a very close an eye on them with the occasional dip in the water if there is the place to do so. For some some dogs, the heat can be too much very quickly like for giant breeds, brachycephalic (flat faced) dogs (i.e: boston terriers, bulldogs, pugs, etc.), and seniors in that case we try our best to walk in shaded areas and may even cut the hike/walk short if they're not enjoying themselves or seem to be getting too exhausted.

What if it's really cold out?

You will always reserve the option of cancelling for your dogs on days of acclimate weather and extreme temperatures. Remember that the pad's on your dogs feet will toughen to tolerate the colder ground temperatures the more they're exposed to it and your dog will be generating enough heat while exercising during colder temps to keep them warm during their session, but we will show up to walk your pup no matter the temperature. It's our general rule that if it's a temperature that's fine for a human then it's a temperature that's fine for a dog.

what about weekend sessions, holidays & evenings?

There are limited weekend/holidays/evening sessions with a surcharge based on availability of our staff. We will not do any on-going scheduled visits on weekends.
